How To Practice Mindful Self-Compassion

  1. Stop and take a few deep breaths.
  2. Acknowledge your emotions. (Say something to yourself like "Being rejected from that job really hurt, I wanted that position.")
  3. Offer yourself a phrase of compassion. Here's some options - May I be gentle with myself, May I give myself the compassion I need, May I learn to accept myself as I am, May I forgive myself, May I be strong.
  4. Go about the rest of your day remembering to treat yourself gently.
